Annual General Meeting

Hopefully all ESP members have already marked down this very important date on your calendar:
ESP Annual General Meeting
Wednesday, May 15, 2013
OSSTF District Office
67 Jamie Ave.

In anticipation of our AGM, please find the link to a nomination form below. (This form may be reproduced if you require more than one.)

Have you been thinking of getting more involved with the ESP Bargaining Unit?  Well, now is your chance! Your Union is a democratic institution, and your participation is your power.

The following positions are up for election this year:

Term of Office
Chief Negotiator/Member Services Officer
2 years
Education Services Officer
2 years
Health & Safety Officer
2 years
Executive Officers (4 positions)
1 year

Please note: Based on Constitutional motions coming to the AGM, we are anticipating that there will be a new position of Health and Safety Officer and we would reduce the number of Executive Officers to 4. Should the constitutional motions fail, there will be no Health and Safety Officer position and there would be 5 executive officers.

The ESP Constitution and By-Laws can be found here. Each position is described in article 8 of the constitution. The Chief Negotiator duties are outlined in Bylaw; Education Services Officer, 8.6 and Executive Officers in 8.8.

The Official Notice of the AGM will be sent out on May 1 and will include the notices of motion and the agenda.

Please note that you need to be nominated by an ESP member….. but that member could be yourself. You also need another member to be the seconder.

The returning officer this year is Nancy Akehurst at the OSSTF offices at 67 Jamie St. Nomination forms MUST be received by 4pm on Friday, May 3rd in order for the names to be on the ballots. Nominations from the floor will be accepted for the position of Health & Safety Officer (for this year only) or Executive Officer, but these names will not appear on the ballot and will require a “write in” vote.

Thanks for your time and commitment!
