How do I get or upgrade my OSSTF Certification Rating Statement?
Certification is done provincially with local deadlines for ensuring maximum retroactivity of your salary.

Do I have to pay Long Term Disability (LTD) premiums?
LTD is a compulsory insurance. However, teachers near the end of their careers may qualify to terminate LTD premium payments.

What are my options when going on pregnancy or parental leave?
Our locally developed Pregnancy/Parental leave information package should help with the various decisions that must be made.

How do I apply for funds to attend a PD workshop?
OSSTF/FEESO reimburses up to $400 for Professional Development every TWO years for Members. Please refer to the conference guidelines for more information on how to apply and on what PD will qualify.

I am a new member of OSSTF. What information should I know about my union?
OSSTF District 25 (Ottawa-Carleton) Teachers' Unit has a New Members Handbook that will provide with the information you need.

What rules govern teachers about making negative comments about other employees?
Making an adverse report about a fellow teacher or OSSTF member is a serious issue. Please contact the district office and ask to speak to a Time Release Officer: 613-729-7211.

I have heard that there is a template available to help me with my Annual Learning Plan. Where do I find it?
OSSTF in District 25 (Ottawa-Carleton) has subscribed to TeachersALP where you can create, update, and edit your ALP from year to year. Be sure to indicate that you are from District 25.
Where can I find a copy of the Teachers' Collective Agreement? When does it expire? The current contract expires in August 2019. Your Collective Bargaining Committee works to develop a brief for bargaining and a questionnaire to poll members.
